What We’ll Do

What does private mentorship for game design with me look like?

It comes in four parts, shared here on the right.

We would have a conversation prior to the start of these services to ensure this would be a good fit, and that we’d both be able to work together. I only take three mentees at a time in order to be the most effective.

Who I Am

My name is Kelvin, and I’ve been working in games for eight and a half years. In that time, I’ve worked mostly in AAA game companies, working on titles as mostly a level designer such as Amazon’s New World, Battlefield 2042, Plants vs Zombies, and Dragon Age: Veilguard.

During that time, I’ve learned lots about the way different teams work, how games get made, and how to survive in this career and make the most of the available opportunities. I’ve been thankful to have lots of mentor figures throughout this journey, who have all played a role in helping me build the career that I have today.

Since then I’ve been looking outwards to see how I can help support and build the next generation of designers, as those who did for me as well then. I’ve taught level design at La Salle College Vancouver, helped co-found Game Design Academia, a Discord game design community, and consulted for the Infocus Film School game design program.
